Barbara K. Overs Warren

Barbara K. Overs Warren, died on 11-07-2017 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA, surrounded by her husband, family and close friends.

She was born in Urbana, OH, and lived on Tybee Island, GA with her devoted husband for 17 years.

She graduated Urbana High School. She attended Urbana University and studied botany. She worked at Stocksdale’s Grocery, New York Life Insurance, and the Worker’s Compensation Bureau, from which she retired in 2000.

She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Urbana, OH and The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Wilmington Island, GA.

She was an active member of the Tybee Sail and Power Squadron. She enjoyed sailing and shopping at various “boutiques”. She belonged to the Savannah Antique Auto Club and the Purls of Tybee. Barbara enjoyed her garden, was a birder, supportive of the SAFE Shelter for Domestic Violence.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fitz Overs and Ruby Creviston Daly, two children, Christopher Whitmore and Jennifer Flack. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Warren; daughters, Tamera Dunham (Jerrel) and Katherine Overs; a niece, Julie Bates and nephew Ned Overs. And Joe’s family who lovingly adopted her; Terry Gallman (Gary), Bruce Warren (Betsy), Virginia Lenahan (Tom), Suzanne Zalar (Gary). A host of combined 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held Nov. 25, 2017 at 10am at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 51 Wilmington Island Rd., Savannah, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Memorial Fund and to the SAFE Shelter Center for Domestic Violence Services, PO Box 61119, Savannah, Ga, 31420.
